Raw food, even pre-made patties, is considered minimally processed, mainly involving grinding and freezing to preserve freshness and safety. In contrast, kibble involves ultra-high heat processing that breaks down ingredients into tiny components, which are then reconstituted and sprayed with flavourings.
Canned food also undergoes ultra-high heat processing to sterilise the contents, which can raise concerns about the heating process itself and potential leaching from the can. Ultra-processed foods like kibble often contain artificial components that bear little resemblance to whole foods.
