Garlic is packed with nutrients. It contains:
- Amino acids
- Potassium
- Zinc
- Phosphorus
- Vitamins A and C
- Magnesium
- Manganese
- Calcium
- Selenium and B complex vitamins
Garlic helps to prevent the formation of blood clots and may also help prevent the formation of tumours. It has mild antibiotic antifungal and antiparasitic properties. It also stimulates your dogs lymphatic system
helping to remove wastes from the body. Garlic is also an antioxidant.
Garlic contains inulin which is a prebiotic so including small amounts in your dogs diet helps to support a healthy gut microbiome.
Fleas and ticks don’t like garlic so it can be used as part of your prevention strategy – that’s why we use it in our Ticked Off. It takes a few weeks for effective levels to build up in your dogs coat oils and body odour so you should start giving it to your dog before the start of tick season.
