The main risk is using food that is toxic to dogs, such as chocolate, grapes, raisins, and macadamia nuts. You should never use foods that your dog has an allergy, sensitivity, or intolerance to as a food topper.
There’s also the risk that by using too much topper, you’re taking away the nutritional benefits that a raw diet provides. For this reason, we recommend food toppers make up only 20% of your dog’s meals.
