Causes of a cat being underweight
- Poor nutrition
- Inadequate feeding amounts for the exercise level of your cat
- A medical condition that makes it difficult for them to absorb nutrients from the food
- A cat moving into their senior years may appear skinnier due to the loss of muscle mass
- They may be dealing with a parasite infestation
- It might be difficult for them to eat due to a problem with their mouth or teeth
- They may now have or have had in the past digestive problems like diarrhoea or vomiting
